The business was started in 1972 by Bill Mattinson, working on his own from a small unit. As the business grew, his wife Patricia, joined him. The business gradually started taking on more staff and moving to bigger premises. Currently, we employ 10 members of staff and occupy three factory units in Cramlington. Around 10 years ago, Mr and Mrs Mattinson decided to take more of a ‘relaxed role’ whilst Kevin and Sharon run the business together. The majority of our staff have been with us for a long time, one being around 30 years!
Our aim is to achieve individual customer service, giving our utmost attention to details in designing, planning and fitting bespoke furniture. What makes us unique is that we do not use standard sizes, therefore each room is made to fit what the customers needs, maximising your space!
As we manufacture our own carcasses and some doors, we are extremely flexible with what we can produce; We are able to adapt to sloping ceilings, low beams and awkward spaces. Our bespoke fitted sliding wardrobes are like no other; Instead of a frame system, our sliding systems come with a full carcase to not only protect your clothes, but also to ensure smooth running doors.
The above points apply to kitchens too, however the non standard sizes are perhaps even more of a selling point. Most companies use standard size units therefore causing a lot of wasted space.
There are many different door styles and hundreds of colours to choose from. We offer free design, no obligation quotations. From the design, to the manufacturing, to installation, it is all done in house by our own craftsmen. Our fitters are employed by us, they are not subcontractors.
The only workers we use from outside are our recommended electrician, plumber, carpet fitter, plasterer & tiler, should you require their services. Working with recommended by us external labourers ensures great communication from all sides, so you don’t have to!
